I’m a Parrot

Image
I’m a Parrot I’m a talking bird I can drive you crazy with my repetition  I like to imitate my owner in speech  You say something I repeat it Everyone knows the phrase  Polly want a cracker Every parrot has said that one Every owner asks their parrot to say it just for fun It’s fun carrying on a conversation with your parrot  Children are amazed by parrots Everyone loves a parrot  Even pirates walk around their ship with a parrot on their shoulder on the high seas. It’s better than carrying a chip on your shoulder. I’m much more colorful and personable and I can talk up a storm. Just say the word and I will too. I wish to expand my vocabulary. I can say all kinds of words. Just be careful what you say because I will repeat it. Parrots are able to speak through their syrinx which is part of their trachea. They do not have vocal cords but the syrinx is able to regulate their pitch and tone when they speak. Parrots can engage in conversation with their owner or wit...

Mankind and horse are joined at the hip Our love affair with horses has been all throughout time. I’m a Turkey

Image
I’m a Turkey  I’m a majestic bird A bird of color  A land bird  I can be heard on the farm  I have over 28 calls My gobble gobble is my most used and most popularly known.  I am a terrestrial bird  Though I graze the land I too can fly I’m more on the ground but I have wings and legs to thrust upwards in the sky if I have to escape a potential predator. Domesticated turkeys raised on the farm usually don’t fly because of their diet which is different from that of a wild turkey.  Wild turkeys usually fly to seek shelter in trees where they roost.  They’re not high flying birds. They adapt to their surroundings as they do not migrate like other birds who can fly far distances to escape the cold. Wild turkeys and farm turkeys can adapt to snowy conditions but seek out shelter or are placed in warm buildings on the farm. Wild turkeys have to be careful of hunters who can get them on land or in flight.  Turkeys are big birds so as they grow it get...

I’m a Mule

Image
I’m a Mule Did you ever see a horse or pony in the fields Or a donkey on a farm They are part of the equine family  Did you ever wonder if they came together to have a baby what it would be Well if the horse or pony is female, a mare and the donkey male, a jack then the baby is a mule. If the horse or pony is male, a stallion and donkey female, a jenny then the baby is a hinny. Mules look similar to both horse and donkey as they are built like a horse but they have donkey ears.  A mule is a work animal like the donkey and the horse. Their work ethic is to be admired.  Donkeys are docile animals as are horses so why are mules thought to be stubborn? Actually they’re not stubborn as the saying goes stubborn as a mule. Mules are very docile animals but very cautious. Hinnies are also very docile. Hinnies and mules are different animals based on crossbreeding of horses, ponies and donkeys and the respective genders of each.  Hinnies are less common than mules but are als...
