I’m a Donkey

Image
I’m a Donkey I’m a wonderful animal who loves children. There’s a popular song the kids sing at Christmastime. Dominic the donkey. Christmas is my favorite holiday. I love looking at the nativity scenes displayed during the holidays. You see the baby Jesus in swaddling clothes in a crib with his parents surrounded by the animals in the stables including a donkey appreciating the moment of his birth.  Donkeys are considered hard workers and are used on the farms and in rural communities and villages to help transport crops and other products to market. Donkeys assemble in packs as they carry out their tasks on the farm. Donkeys are smaller than horses and cute in appearance with expressive eyes and they love taking children for rides. They love going to birthday parties and meeting with other donkeys and ponies drawing attention from the children. Donkeys are shy at times until they get to know and trust others. I love to graze the grasslands with my donkey friends and I put in a ha...

I’m an Ostrich

Image
I’m an Ostrich  I’m a large bird with a long neck. My head is small compared to my body size.  I have distinctive eyes that can see for long distances.  I’m different from many birds because I also have long legs. My legs are very long to enable me to run. I’m known for burying my head in the sand but that’s a myth. I wouldn’t be able to breathe if I did that.  Despite my size I’m pretty fast and can run at a decent clip. Something many birds can’t do because they only have wings and very tiny legs.  I wish I could fly but God made me different so I can’t fly because I don’t have wings.  Therefore I’m a land bird confined to the grounds so I must be very careful and always looking around to ensure my safety.  I love to explore the wilds and roam around as I search for food and water.  I feast mostly on plants, fruits and nuts and search for streams to help me digest my food, cool off and satisfy my thirst because of the warm climate. I can survive...

I’m a Bison

Image
I’m a Bison Sometimes called a buffalo.  I’m a symbol of the early frontier days when life for us was difficult. We faced near extinction and literally were running for our lives in those days. Hunters came out in droves. I remember running in herds to escape the chaos and I saw some of my friends laying injured. I wanted to help them but I had to run for dear life. I love to roam the land and graze in the wilderness. We forage for food on land vegetation and love the grasslands. We don’t want to hurt anyone. We just want to mind our own business and thrive in the wild. We seek to mate and assemble in herds to meet. Female bison are also known as cows. Male bison are also known as bulls. We have brown or black colored fur with lots of hair growth.  We’re large animals and have horns for protection and may use them if we feel we’re under attack.  Bison running in the grasslands freely is a remarkable sight to see and freedom is key. We just want to roam the lands and enjoy...

I’m a Deer

Image
I’m a Deer I’m a docile and tame animal. I mind my own business but must always be on the lookout and always alert and aware of my surroundings. I’m extremely fast and beautiful in stature. I love to run around in the fields and woods but sometimes I get into trouble spots due to my proximity to residential areas where there are cars traveling roads I may cross. It’s most difficult navigating at night in darkness on winding country roads. It’s very scary when you see lights in the distance as you’re crossing roads so you must be agile and cross the road to safety before the car passes.  There’s a saying about a deer getting caught in the headlights which means the deer is overcome with panic and freezes unable to cross the road.  There are signs posted in deer crossing areas for our safety and the safety of others. I prefer running in desolate areas where I can travel friendly terrain though I still must always be on guard for my safety. I’m vulnerable in the wild because ther...

I’m a Lion

Image
I’m a Lion I have the loudest roar in the land. I’m one of the largest cats you’ll ever meet. I also live in the wild like the tiger. We’re very social and we hangout in prides with adults and cubs.  A pride consists of approximately 15 lions represented by adult females and males in addition to their cubs.  Lions socialize and communicate through rubbing and licking each other in the pride as grooming is very essential.  These big cats communicate similarly to the domesticated house cat by licking and rubbing each other.  The adult female lions take care of their cubs needs and hunt for food.  The adult male lions are aggressive and seek to mate and are also hunters for their families and work in cooperation with one another but do tend to take control.  We tend to sleep in the wild for 18 to 20 hours a day and are on the hunt when necessary. We are very fast for only short distances but can run up to 45 miles per hour despite our size and we’re very intim...

I’m a Tiger

Image
I’m a Tiger  I roam in the wild. I’m a huge cat. I’m a predator and I generally live a solitary life and am very protective of my tiger cubs.  I’m very fast and can run up to speeds of 40 miles per hour and can leap over 30 feet in distance. I’m extremely fast on my feet and very dangerous to my prey.  I am always on the prowl for food to feed myself and my cubs. I love to run around in the jungle and the wilderness. I’m also very adept at climbing and navigating tough terrain. I’m orange colored with black stripes and I also have to be alert because I’m hunted for my fur. I can also be white colored with black stripes and also white like the snow that caresses the landscape on a winter’s day. I thrive in the warmer climates and seek streams for water for thirst and for cleansing myself and my baby cubs. I’m very territorial and don’t take well to unwanted visitors and I mark my terrain to shelter my family and to hunt for food.  I nurture my cubs and teach them the ...

I’m a Cow

Image
I’m a Cow I’m domesticated and am referred to as a member of the cattle family.  I live on a farm with many different animals. I graze the beautiful land eating grass and I drink plenty of water from the trough. I am very attached to my mom when I’m born and I stay by her side until I’m ready to take on tasks of my own on the farm depending on my sex.  Females growing into adulthood are cows and males are bulls or steers. Growing cows must have a healthy diet of greens and drink a plentiful supply of water because they are usually milked twice a day by the farmers and their farm hands. They produce high volumes of milk which are gathered in pails and then are transported to vats where the milk is pasteurized and then sold to customers or delivered to market. Steers and oxen are male cattle and they usually assist the farmers in the fields where they are used to help pull wagons filled with various picked crops similar to horses.  They are also used to help the farme...

I’m a Sheep

Image
I’m a Sheep  I live on a farm with many kinds of animals. Sheep are very gentle animals and very obedient and friendly.  The farmers herd us into flocks and we graze the lands for hours feeding on the grass and are led to water where we drink and gain our strength. We follow the sheep in the front who are led by the farmers and dogs who keep us in formation and safe.  As an animal domesticated on a farm we produce milk and wool.  The farmers and veterinarians keep us healthy and safe and take good care of us so we’re able to grow and thrive.  We produce milk that the farmers use on the farm to sell to their customers and the markets. We also are known for our wool which also is sold to market because it’s a popular item for clothing, coats and fashion accessories.  We are very social creatures and communicate among each other with our grunts, groans and cries.  As an animal that needs to graze the lands in groups we are most vulnerable when we wander a...

I’m a Rabbit

Image
I’m a Rabbit  I’m a furry little creature.  I have floppy ears.  I love to run around outside.  I see the kittens inside looking outside at me wishing they could trade places.  I do love being outside but find the winter months very difficult so I look for warm places to stay at those times.  I also like to hang around with my rabbit friends as it’s much easier when you have others to socialize with. My favorite time of the year is the spring and my holiday of choice is Easter because rabbits and chicks are celebrated and a major theme of the Easter holiday.  I like seeing the houses I visit all decorated with Easter bunnies, chickadees and Easter eggs.  I like seeing the children all dressed up and carrying their Easter baskets with chocolate bunnies, marshmallow chickadees and jelly beans.  I prefer carrots myself but I know kids love candies. I’m a gentle animal but I’m hardened by living outside.  Some of my rabbit friends live on a ...

I’m a Racehorse

Image
I’m a Racehorse  I love to run every chance I get. I’m up at the crack of dawn.  I focus on my speed workouts and developing my strength and stamina. Running to me comes natural and I am blessed by God to have such talent and ability.  Everyone is in my corner to help harness my greatness from the trainers, veterinarians, caregivers, managers, owners, jockeys, photographers, and publicists. I’m treated like royalty and given a name befitting of my standing in competition. When I race there’s no time for socializing or making friends. I have to run at optimal levels and must always be tested before my races. My entourage takes good care of my needs and sees I’m well fed and in the best possible health I can be in.  I’m sponged down after my races so I don’t get overheated and tested for fractures or injuries. If I’m injured I can’t compete and a lot of money is on the line so I’m truly pampered and always have my veterinarian on call. I feel anxious before my races wi...

I’m a Penguin

Image
I’m a Penguin They call us Emperor. We are used to making long treks in the cold winters on the icy waters that are frozen over when it’s time to search for food as we leave our mate and chicks behind.  The hardest part of our long anticipated journey is the separation from our family and facing the cold biting wind and heavy snows that makes the hundred mile trek near impossible but our only chance at survival is to forge through as we must overcome the obstacles so we can feed ourselves and everyone in the family. At least I’m accompanied by many friends as I’m never alone.  We line in formation as we navigate the difficult terrain supporting each other and reminding all why we must endure the elements to ensure our success. We are built for these challenges and rather adept at walking long distances though we’re unable to flap our wings and fly. We also enjoy sliding on the ice on our bellies to keep our spirits up and to go further, faster and harder. To many we’re loud as...

I’m a Bird

Image
I’m a Bird I’m a free spirit.  I soar high in the sky. I fly low to the ground by our beaches.  I sing during the morning sunrise.  I spread happiness and cheer to all. I attract the gaze of cats from their owner’s kitchen windows. I live outdoors.  I wouldn’t want it any other way. I admit it’s harder but it’s all I know and it’s much better than living in a cage. When we’re born we live in a nest where we are sheltered and cared for by our mother bird.  Our mother provides us food and water.  She protects us from harmful elements.  We are kept warm and nurtured through our earliest days.  When we are a little older and at near full strength we are encouraged to fly. It’s part of our nature to grow and make our way into the world once our mother bird has raised us to the point we can fly. Our mother gives us a gentle nudge and when we’re ready we spread our wings and fly. It’s the most incredible experience to seize the sky and to spread our wing...

I’m a Bear

Image
I’m a Bear  I’m bigger than most animals.  I’m strong and I’m a hunter.  I’m also tall and fast and I can climb. I get my food in the waterways abundant with fish. I’m strategic in how I capture them. They’re fast so I have to be faster depending on my quick reflexes and my level of hunger. I also forage in the woods for my food out of necessity such as vegetation, insects, berries, seeds and if I’m able to capture a wild animal I’ll really have a feast..  I also enjoy finding the bee hives where I search for that sweet taste of honey that sends me into a tizzy. I love honey on my tongue and can’t get enough of it but I don’t like getting bee stings so it’s not so easy to get enough of it.  I’m not much for the cold so I tend to find a place for warmth and it’s the best time to sleep but I need to have enough food to tide me over in addition to drinking water before I sleep for the amount of months I need to. It’s too cold in the winter season and I have to eat ...

I’m a Honey Bee

Image
I’m a Honey Bee I live in a colony with the queen bee, thousands of worker bees and nurse bees.  We’re all female bees taking care of each other supporting the sick and the baby bees. We all play a role in pollination and in enabling the growth of crops, flowers and we are instrumental in producing the food supply for all of civilization. We spread pollen from flower to flower which we help to create.  We are domesticated and are nature’s hardest workers. We help to grow all types of fruits and vegetables by spreading the pollen and sugars we create that we also subsist on for our dietary needs.  We generate our food source from the pollen we forage creating a nectar and we also need water in our diet for our survival as well so we must seek water from streams and ponds to protect all the bees in the hive.  We are protected in our hive and we work in unison with all the different classes of bees and we ensure the safety of our queen and the worker bees who produce th...

I’m a Dog

Image
I’m a Dog I’m a lovable lug. I’m one of the biggest dogs.  I’m a Great Dane. I’m very loyal, alert and protective. I’m young and sowing my oats. My owner and I need each other. I stay by my owners side protecting him from anyone who comes too close.  My owner takes me out for a walk and to take care of my needs. We’re so happy together.  My owner sings to me. I acknowledge by barking back.  I’m strong and growing every day. My owner feeds me well and always has a bowl of water for me. I’m big when I’m in the standing and walking position but I’m a lovable canine.  I prefer the country side. I’m not the big city type dog.  I like the slow pace of life. I prefer living on a farm with my owner with other animals big and small. I love my owner and my owner loves me. I love when my owner takes me for a ride in the pickup truck. I love looking out the window and feeling the wind upon my face. I love to run around when given the chance.  My owner is my best f...

I’m a Cat

Image
I’m a Cat I’m a hunter by instinct. I can run. I can jump. I can chase the ball. I love to play in boxes my owner opens. I love to play with plush toys and sometimes there’s catnip inside that makes me more excited and energetic.  When I’m tired I sleep at the window sill. Taking in the rays of the sun. I look to my owner and brush by her legs when she’s around. I meow when I want to eat. My owner takes good care of me. I curl up when I sleep on the family couch.  Sometimes I sleep on the floor.  Sometimes I sleep in my cat bed. Sometimes I sleep on my owners bed. Sometimes I sleep next to my owner. I purr when I’m with my owner.  I feel safe and protected. I live in my owner’s house.  I chase around after the bugs.  I look out the window thinking how nice it would be to run around outside. My owner seems overprotective of me but I love my owner because I know I’m well taken care of. My owner also knows I’m very curious and needs to explore my surroundings....

I’m a Turtle

Image
I’m a Turtle  I’m a turtle but at least I get to where I need to go.  I may not get their fleet of foot but I get there none the less and that’s all that matters.  I may not garner the attention or the adulation but I always stay on course and find a way to get to where  I need to go.  I have the gift of patience.  No matter how long the course I’m diligent, dedicated and carefree.  I’m cautious and slow but I always get to where I have to go.  I’m just a tiny little force of energy and might.  I have a hard exterior shell to protect me from the weather or attacks from the outside. I can live on land and also in the sea depending on the type of turtle I am. I come in all types of sizes from extremely tiny to huge and am adaptable to various environments though I struggle in the heat and the extreme cold. I can live to a grand old age of 100 years or more though not as long as trees that dot the forests and various landscapes.  I’m filled...
