I’m a Bison
I’m a Bison
Sometimes called a buffalo.
I’m a symbol of the early frontier days when life for us was difficult.
We faced near extinction and literally were running for our lives in those days.
Hunters came out in droves.
I remember running in herds to escape the chaos and I saw some of my friends laying injured.
I wanted to help them but I had to run for dear life.
I love to roam the land and graze in the wilderness.
We forage for food on land vegetation and love the grasslands.
We don’t want to hurt anyone.
We just want to mind our own business and thrive in the wild.
We seek to mate and assemble in herds to meet.
Female bison are also known as cows.
Male bison are also known as bulls.
We have brown or black colored fur with lots of hair growth.
We’re large animals and have horns for protection and may use them if we feel we’re under attack.
Bison running in the grasslands freely is a remarkable sight to see and freedom is key.
We just want to roam the lands and enjoy nature and cross the waterways for drink and to wash ourselves and graze the lands with our young.
I remember the days in the herd on vast migrations seeking food and water and following the others.
I have many fond memories running in the herd.
Now I’m on my own looking for a mate so I can have a family of my own and run once again in a new herd.
Life for me is difficult but I’m strong, hopeful and courageous because I’m a bison.
