I’m a Peacock

I’m a Peacock I’m a bird with personality  I am very colorful  I’m a sight for sore eyes I can fly but not for long distances  I prefer the ground to the sky I will fly to avoid danger or to get across a stream I can not get my feathers wet as that will weigh me down and weaken me if I get caught up in the waters I must be careful as I can not swim  My feathers are my calling card They distinguish me from other birds They bring smiles to children’s faces at the zoo where they can see me up close and personal. I live in India, Asia and Africa and I can be found at zoos and nature parks around the world that can support my lifestyle in a warm climate.  I’m a docile bird and I prefer my privacy. Peacocks are shy and solitary birds and usually only stay near their families and will not gather with birds of another feather.
